On Christmas Eve in 1931, during the depression era construction of Rockefeller Center, workers decorated a small balsam fir tree and thus the famous tree lighting celebration of Christmas at Rockefeller Center was born.
Many years ago, during a tree scouting trip, the Garden’s Division of Rockefeller Center discovered the thirty-five foot pine tree that lives in the middle of Brotherhood Winery. Several offers were made to purchase the tree for the tree lighting celebration, but the winery chose not to part with it. Instead, the winery decorates the tree with lights every year in celebration of the holidays and this year will be no exception.
Brotherhood Winery would like to invite everyone to our annual Village of Washingtonville Christmas Tree Lighting and festive atmosphere. Admission is FREE.
